Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a computer systems architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

The selected candidate willimplement and maintain a variety of test systems and support systems that are in constant operation in a production Space Systems program integration and test area. Thishighly dynamic integration and test environment requires all systems maintain high availability and limited down time. The candidate will be expected to support 24/7 on call during certain activities, have the ability to support 2ndand 3rdshift if required, and support extended travel to a launch site in 2019. Person must carry a pager at all times.

Essential Functions:

-System administration of COTS computers including servers, workstations and customized COTS hardware

-Maintaining network switches including ensuring disaster recovery for switch configurations and maintaining 100 percent availability

-Support troubleshooting and optimization of computer systems in the labs and integration and test areas

-Help maintain existing video networking and displays and aid in standing up other support systems as necessary

-Manage hardware and software configurations per the program requirements

-Follow I&T processes and procedures required for entry and performance inhi-bays and industrial clean rooms

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.Candidate must be comfortable in a lab environment and integration and test environment, including hi-bays and clean rooms with be able to collaborate closely with engineering and customer and partners.

Basic Qualifications:

-STEM Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university and2 years of system administration experience either on desktop, servers or networking; or a STEM Master's degree

-Possess IA security Certification (Security or certification for an DOD IAT II/III per DOD 8570.1)

-The ability to obtain and maintain special program access

Preferred Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Security or Cyber Security , or Electrical Engineering

-An active in-scope DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance

-OS (Windows or LINUX) certification or a network accreditation (Cisco CCENT or CCNA).

-Experience in NASA environments and past or current ability to administer in NASA networks

-Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)

-Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

-Abilitywork on lab management skills (rack and stack, cabling, moving computer servers/workstations)
