This position will be located at our Space Systems Sector in Redondo Beach, CA.

The qualified candidate will become part of the Northrop Grumman's Systems Engineering organization. The selected candidate will support communication systems architecture trades, design analysis, and performance modeling through computer simulation. This individual will provide systems engineering support to hardware developments for space, and ground systems utilizing state-of-the-art antenna, RF, digital, optical, laser, and microelectronics technologies. Project roles span all phases of product development cycle, from new business acquisition, and IRAD/ technology development to established programs delivering integrated hardware and software systems. activities include system architecture design, trade studies, specification development, requirement definition and allocation, performance analysis and simulation; system modeling and simulation tool development, and support to hardware design, manufacturing, integration and test.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Be completing or has completed their Masters of Science Electrical Engineering degree or MSEE with an expected graduation date in 2020/2021 from an ABET accredited university

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile).

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Practical working experience with system architecture design, trade studies, and performance analysis and simulation.

  • Technical experience with supporting hardware development utilizing antenna, RF, digital, optical, laser, and microelectronic technologies.

  • 6+ months of engineering experience in an aerospace environment.

  • Completed relevant coursework in Communication Theory, Digital Signal Processing and Remote Sensing

  • Experience with baseband and digital signal processing, and waveform design

  • Possess strong leadership qualities, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Currently possess an Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance or Restricted Clearance with in-scope background investigation.

  • Education and experience in the multiple of the following areas:

  • Communication systems

  • RF and digital hardware design

  • Baseband and digital signal processing

  • Waveform design

  • Signal detection and estimation

  • Synchronization theory

  • Networking

  • Remote sensing

  • Image processing

  • Optics
