Northrop Grumman Space Systems sector is seeking an Associate Radiation Effects Engineer to join our team of creative and diverse engineers. The position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
The Radiation Effects Engineer researches, designs, develops, and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems that are used in space and defense applications.
Radiation effects analysis
Radiation analysis reporting
Simulation of electronic components relative to space radiation effects
Nuclear hardening and SGEMP design and analysis
Electron/proton/x - ray transport
Single event effects, upset, and transients
Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Physics or closely related discipline
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile).
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).
Experience performing radiation effects analysis, shielding analysis, and survivability analysis
Experience in conducting radiation testing, circuit design/simulation, dose-depth curves, and parameter degradation
Experience with circuit design/simulation, SPICE analyses, electronic component characterization & parameters
Experience with single event effects, single event upset, and single event transients
Experience with meteoroid/orbital debris, electron/proton/x-ray transport, and atomic oxygen calculations
Demonstrated capability to provide design support and participate in design reviews
