Northrop Grumman Corporation is seeking a workplace accommodations specialist who will be responsible for coordinating, administering, and implementing the accommodation workflow process and procedures, identify accommodations needed, assisting employees and participating in interactive accommodations process, procurement, fulfillment of requests; assist with research, data collection and reporting on accommodation/service delivery in the EEO compliance and workplace accommodations group while providing excellent customer service at all times. Must act as an employee advocate to remove barriers to productivity and aide in the identification and obtainment of accommodations needed. Must be able to provide solutions to business challenges. Position will also be responsible for providing support and assistance to accessibility charter on facilities, systems, website, information, communications, Command Media, and technology accessibility compliance for the enterprise.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate high volume of accommodation requests and collaboration of decision making as well as implementation of needed accommodation services for applicants, employees, customers, visitors, subcontractors or investors with disabilities on behalf of NGC, including intake requests, confirmation of request notifications, scheduling reasonable accommodation committee (RAC) meetings, capturing notes of accommodations considered and offered in the online system, conversations, tracking follow up appointments, ensuring two-way conversation of proposed accommodation for PWD, obtaining proper documentation when required, and tracking and notifying stakeholders of final resolution.

  • Assist in the planning, management and evaluation of workplace accommodations.

  • Collaborate with key functional area liaisons to ensure the proposed solution(s) meets the needs of the requestor.

  • Monitor accommodations and resolve or report trends, issues, or irregularities.

  • Update and maintain a pool of available accommodation service providers such as captioners, sign language interpreters, personal care assistants, etc. and evaluate and propose enterprise service level agreements for purchase orders.

  • Coordinate the scheduling of interpreters and real-time captionists to meet the needs of people with disabilities who are deaf and hard-of-hearing.

  • Assist with the recruitment of service level providers and development of company materials (for example, annual reports or recruitment materials, presentations, flyers and announcements) in alternative accessible formats such as Braille or audio which can be provided upon request.

  • Collaborate with key functional area liaisons to assist in the coordination of accommodations needed for meetings, training sessions, conferences, all hands meetings, presentations, etc.

  • Plan and conduct individual and group training on the reasonable accommodation workflow process and procedures utilized for requesting accommodation services.

  • Participate in the implementation of people with disabilities strategies for attracting, hiring, promoting, and retaining as well as engagement.

  • Campaigning for benefits of self-identification and increased awareness of accommodation services, accommodation utilization, as well as retention, and progression rates.

  • Experience using web-based systems to update records during the accommodations process, provide current status of requests, upload documentation, and run reports to determine past and present metrics.

  • Serve as a leader both within the role and across the enterprise and externally.

Performance standards that an incumbent must have to be successful in this position include: excellent problem solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent customer service skills, demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence others to drive change.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10 years of RN, EEO, HR, ER, and/or Labor Law experience or master's degree with 8 years of RN, EEO, HR, ER, and/or Labor Law experience.

  • 5 years of direct high volume work experience coordinating workplace accommodations.

  • In-depth knowledge of ADA/ADAA accessibility and workplace accommodation issues and management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree.
