Northrop Grumman is seeking Software Engineers and Designers to join the Technology Services Intern Program. This position will be located in Providence, RI.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman'sInRhodes Program.
The InRhodes Program involves systems supporting a state agencyworking to migrate functionality from mainframes to web-based.
Northrop Grumman is seeking Software Engineers and Designersto join the Technology Services Intern Program. As an intern, you'll participate in a summer internship program to develop competencies in a variety of software engineering specializations that may include:
Full life cycle product development on a variety of architectures and target platforms
Utilizing software engineering technologies such as Object Oriented Design/Programming, Client-Server Distributed Architectures, Service Oriented Architectures, C/C++, C#, Java, Java Enterprise, Embedded Real-time Development,
Database Design, Web Technologies, .NET, and the Unix, Linux, Windows, VxWorks
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after August 2019
Be majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or User Design/Experience
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2019
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Knowledge of Object Oriented Design (OOD)
Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
Experience in Java development. (coursework or internship/work experience acceptable)
Knowledge of Object Oriented Design (OOD).
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum
Knowledge of AngularJS/Angular Material or another front end framework
Knowledge of HTML5 CSS3Knowledge of building RESTful web services
Knowledge of J2EE/Spring framework
