Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a Sr. Principal International Trade Compliance Analyst to join our growing team of diverse professionals in Plymouth, Minnesota .
Develops and manages comprehensive internal export and import controls to ensure compliance with US and foreign regulations in the conduct of international marketing, sales, supply chain and other business activities
Establishes business processes for submitting to and obtaining from the U.S. government all necessary export and import licenses, permits, certifications, and technology release determinations
Establishes and maintains relations with appropriate government regulatory agencies
Establishes operational processes for assuring trade compliance through gate reviews for technical data, foreign travel, foreign visits and export and import shipments
Maintains applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements
Supports law department in investigating and resolving compliance problems, questions, or complaints
Establishes and maintains training and audit assessment programs to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls
Generates performance metrics for export and import processes
Must have one of the following:
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 14 years of regulatory and/or compliance experience
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of regulatory and/or compliance experience
Master's degree with a minimum of 8 years of regulatory and/or compliance experience
Minimum of 3 years drafting and submitting export licenses and agreements, interpreting and providing guidance on U.S. ITAR and EAR regulations for the licensing of commodities, technical data and defense services or equivalent US Government experience.
Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance
Must be able to work on-site in Plymouth, Minnesota
Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time)
Experience with OCR's EASE software
Able to learn and use new web-based applications including work flows and databases
Experience with use of / authorizing ITAR exemptions
Experience with making Jurisdiction and Classification determinations
Active Secret or higher security clearance
Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
Demonstrate a track record for paying close attention to detail
Experienced and comfortable providing training in person or via virtual methods
Knowledge of BATFE and other US Government Regulations
Advanced degree and/or Aerospace or Defense industry experience
