Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Cyber Systems Engineer 3 to support large computing systems and state of the art solutions to a wide range of technical problems for classified programs and projects supporting the Department of Defense (DoD). You can choose to work at either our Columbus, OH or our Pensacola, FL sites.

As a Cyber Systems Engineer, you will support classified operations, with responsibilities that include: designing, installing, configuring, securing, troubleshooting and testing real time data transport and processing solutions.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supporting system design and troubleshooting data collection and delivery methods for real-time Cyber Defense Operations

  • Documenting efforts and design outcomes to facilitate deployments to production environments

  • Building and managing Red Hat Linux computing and clustered infrastructure

  • Building and maintaining systems in accordance with DoD policies and procedures

  • Recommending appropriate actions to monitor and finely tune systems to achieve optimum performance and load balancing

  • Maintaining baseline systems in a Lab environment in accordance with DoD Certification and Accreditation (C&A) requirements

PENSFLMSTR

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in a related fieldplus5 years of relevant experience;or a Master's degree in a related fieldplus3 years of relevant experience; or an Associate's Degree in a related fieldplus 7 years of relevant experience; or9 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree

  • Experience implementing and maintaining Linux/Unix systems and related software

  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work closely with remote teams

  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT level 2 (or higher) Compliance Certificationprior to start

  • Current, active Secret Department of Defense (DoD) Clearance

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with or capability to acquire knowledge of data transport, data conversion, and ingest solutions.

  • Experience working with Clustered file systems for various technologies such as Hadoop, Lustre, and GFS2., and cloud computing technologies

  • Experience with self-documentation practices utilizing products such as, MS Visio, MS Project, JIRA, Wiki Articles, and creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) using MS Word.

  • Experience with or capability to acquire knowledge of any cyber security tools such as Nessus, Splunk, Sourcefire, Athena, HBSS, Noesis, Wireshark, and full-packet capture solutions

  • Possess knowledge and experience with DoD STIGs, RMF, and DoD FSO operational standards

  • Possess knowledge of big data and data format types, cyber analyst tools, and workflows

  • Red Hat Linux Certification (RHCSA or RHCE)
