The F-35 Integrated Test Force is seeking a candidate to fill a dual role Flight Test Engineering and Section Manager position and lead a team of 8-10 Flight Test Engineers, System Test Engineers, and Test Conductors.
The role of the Flight Test Manager includes being responsible for all facets of Flight Test Planning and Execution in multiple technology areas. Flight test planning includes requirements development, verification development, detailed flight test planning, and test event preparation. Test execution includes leading and conduct of ground and flight test in the role of Test Conductor or Test Director. Candidate must be familiar with and possess in depth knowledge in one or more areas; envelope expansion, weapons integration, and mission systems and possess an in depth knowledge in one or more area. Candidate must be able to understand the role of flight test engineering, along with the roles of the supporting departments required to execute testing. Candidates must be able to provide leadership and direction to other Flight Test Engineers, System Test Engineers, and Test Conductors on a tactical and strategic basis, as well as, being able to perform Flight Test Engineering functions in the control room when required. This position supports the F-35 Integrated Test Force at NAS Pax River and reports to leadership within the teams' contractor and government organization.
Candidates must be capable of supporting business development activities, support proposals (generate schedules and cost estimates), and support test reviews. Candidate must be capable of being responsible for cost, schedule, and technical performance for various test activities executed within the IPT. This includes management of budgets and using EVMS reporting tools, accountable for cost, schedule, and reporting any variances.
The responsibility of the Flight Test Section Manager includes performing functional homeroom duties such as attending functional staff meetings, management of personnel (performance reviews, goal setting & coaching), coordination of job assignments, staffing, recruiting, developing process improvement plans and providing input, guidance and review for policies, processes and procedures related to the Flight Test Center of Excellence.

Bachelor of Science Degree in (STEM) Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math.
Minimum of 5 years' flight test experience with an emphasis on test planning and execution.
Must have an active DOD Secret clearance with an investigation in the last 6 years with the ability to obtain and retain a DOD Top Secret and SAP clearance.
Master of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math.
Current Top Secret Clearance
