Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Vehicle Engineering Program Director 1. This leadership position is located in Palmdale, CA and will report to the Director of Vehicle Engineering for the Aeronautics Sector . This position will provide program leadership to a restricted Strike multi-discipline Production Engineering team located in Palmdale, CA and supporting remote locations.
The Director's responsibilities include providing strategic and operational leadership for the Strike Production Engineering team. The position duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Provide Production Engineering team strategy and execution (cost, schedule, technical, quality, risk and opportunity management, forecasting)
Effective communication and collaboration between the Production Engineering team and all other teams within the Build IPT to ensure overall program success
Act as customer interface for technical and execution matters related to the Production Engineering team
Bid and proposal support of supplemental work related to the Build IPT
Lead Production Engineering MRB process improvement and operational efficiency efforts
Collaboration and partnership with the Vehicle Engineering Functional Homeroom Director to ensure successful execution of the Production Engineering team's staffing requirements, processes, tools, and training needs
Work well with a team and possess exceptional written and oral communication skills, including executive reviews and presentations

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 14 years of Aerospace experience; OR Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 12 years of Aerospace experience, OR Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 9 years of Aerospace experience
Demonstrated ability to plan, estimate, organize, integrate, and manage technical activities and organizations in a fast-paced, high-performing contractor/government environment with quantifiable results and accomplishments
Experience leading an engineering team within a fast-paced, manufacturing environment
Cost Account Management (CAM) training/certification completion
Demonstrated discipline in meeting cost and schedule targets for technically complex work
Must be familiar with Cost-Plus and Fixed Price development and integration
Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Must be able to obtain and maintain special access program (SAP) clearance prior to start of employment
Experience in creating presentations and briefing executive leadership
Experience interfacing with a DoD customer
Ability to collaborate within a team and across team environments
Ability to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish desired results
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously
Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions
Salary Range: $209,600 - $314,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
