Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Systems Engineering Manager 2 position to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This leadership role is located in Palmdale, CA.

The manager is responsible for supporting the System Integration Lab (SIL) Infrastructure, Architecture, and HW/SW development integration test team. Required support includes lab operations, maintenance, staffing, planning, integration/test execution, and SIL status reporting to upper management. This position requires a highly motivated and self-starting individual with relevant IT and/or SIL test and operations experience.

Typical duties:

  • Lead SIL maintenance, modification, troubleshooting, and test asset modification efforts

  • Specify test configurations, coordinate test modifications, and lead HW/SW certification efforts

  • Manage the daily tasks of the assigned personnel, including Test Conductors and Systems Engineers

  • Manage to the SIL budgets, personnel, and resource scheduling

  • Liaise with the Palmdale Test & Evaluation (T&E) Functional Homeroom as required for the statement of work

  • Identify test and facility risks and growth plans throughout the development lifecycle

  • Position requires Section Manager functional duties, responsible for 10 to 15 assigned direct reports. Selected candidate will report functionally to the Strike T&E Department Manager and operationally to the Strike SIL Lab IPT Manager

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 9 years of relevant engineering/test or infrastructure/architecture experience, OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline AND 7 years of relevant engineering/test or infrastructure/architecture

  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance, with an investigation date within the past 6 years

  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

  • Must be willing to work non-standard shifts and overtime, as required

  • Flexibility to work additional assignments within the IPT beyond the defined requirements of this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)

  • Active PAR

Salary Range: $151,900 - $227,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
