Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.
The selected candidate will maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
10 Years of related experience with Bachelors Degree; 8 Years related experience with Masters. 14 years of applied experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays and weekends.
Must maintain a valid U.S. passport. Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.
Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and retain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission.
Must meet medical requirements for worldwide travel.
Must attain and maintain certifications required for the role.

Installing / configuring / managing server hardware (servers, storage arrays, etc.) and networking equipment
Installing / configuring / managing VMWare (vSphere Hypervisor, vCenter Server, vSAN)
Installing / configuring / managing Microsoft Server 2008/2012/2016/2019
Microsoft System Center (SCOM, SCCM)
Task automation, writing PowerShell scripts and batch files
Windows Server Update Services
Active Directory administration
Microsoft Exchange administration
Microsoft IIS configuration
Microsoft SQL Server installation/configuration/administration
Reading and writing T-SQL Scripts
Microsoft SharePoint administration
Current Security+ Certification
Helpful but not required:
Familiar with Microsoft .Net Framework
Familiar with HPE DL380; 3PAR StoreServ; StoreOnce; StoreEver
Proficient with Cisco IOS, switches, and routers
Proficient with Oracle DB administration
Proficient with CentOS / RedHat Linux administration
Proficient with SolarWinds and/or Splunk
