Our Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Information Systems Project Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will support our Advanced Manufacturing Technology & Innovation development team and will be located in Palmdale, CA.
Our organization is currently working to build a revolutionary kind of production factory, an IIoT Smart Factory, and we need your help to shape the foundation! As a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology & Innovation team, you will lead the development and implementation of digital manufacturing production applications. This position provides a qualified candidate with a unique opportunity to manage innovative projects, which once implemented, will become the benchmark for future manufacturing production lines. To that effect, the position will require strong leadership, analytical and problem solving skills. In addition, the candidate must have a solid understanding of a manufacturing environment and industrial operations.
Essential Job Functions :
Manages cost, schedule, and technical aspects of assigned projects from start to closure. Accountable for project performance by directing project execution, meeting technical requirements, and regulating budget spending.
Prepares and maintains project plans, estimates resources and forecasts required to support, manages risks/issues and constraints
Leads a team of engineers, analysts, and other technical personnel to achieve project objectives. Provide technical and analytical guidance to the core team. Understands the uncertainties of development / test, and be effective and quick to influence / drive resolution to issues in order to meet milestones and deadlines.
Supports recurring project data collection and analysis, timely information distribution and reporting, and coordinating review activities
Communicate advanced concepts and information in an understandable manner for audiences of varying levels of competency. Continuous interface with stakeholders and customers is required.
Collaborates with other project leads and community to enhance project management effectiveness. Identifies and exploits opportunities to eliminate waste and optimize resources that enable others to provide focused support.
Supports multiple engineering insertions simultaneously while ensuring the various maturations are synchronized
Support and enforce the Agile methodology and framework used by the project team
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of customer's lifecycles, standards, and supporting processes and practices.
Keeps current on advances in the field of IIoT with demonstrating strategic big picture thinking.
Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 9 years of experience in information systems project or program management; OR Master's Degree in STEM with 7 years of information systems project or program management
Bachelor's Degree (non-STEM) with 4 years of experience with information systems project or program management, or Master's Degree (non-STEM) with 2 years of experience information systems project or program management.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading and managing large projects, including extensive experience in managing system deployments
Hands-on experience with enterprise architecture, application planning, and deployment
Demonstrated experience working in an Agile or Scaled Agile Framework environment
Manage multiple projects concurrently in meeting customer requirements/expectations
Project / Program Management skills (proposal creation, scheduling, budget tracking)
Understanding of a manufacturing environment and industrial operations
Experience leading discussions with key stakeholders, including excellent verbal and written communications with customers, technical teams, peers, and direct management
Experience with using Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS-Project, Visio)
Self-starter who is able to work with minimal direction
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Ability to travel 10-15% of the time
STEM Degree (Science, Technical, Engineering, or Mathematical)
Experience in the development, capture, and/or execution of R&D technology initiatives
Experience in a fabrication and/or assembly manufacturing environment
Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM)
Experience with CBA/ROI analysis and justifications
Demonstrated experience teaching Agile methodologies to others
Experience supporting proposal development or technical writing experience
Knowledge of the Manufacturing/Technology Readiness Level (MRL/TRL) process
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
Current active Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred
