Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer Software (4) for a position located at Palmdale, CA. Successful candidate will design, develop, document, test and debug application software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Science with 9 years of job related experience; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD. 13 relevant

experience to the Aviation and Aerospace industry may be used in lieu of the additional education requirement

  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support

on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days- a-week, and 365 days a year.

  • Experienced and complete understanding of Sequel

  • Must meet medical requirements for worldwide travel. Must have and maintain a valid U.S. passport, accept customer

furnished quarters for a period up to 120 days away from primary work location.

  • Must possess an active DoD Top Secret security clearance and be able to maintain that clearance and has the ability to

obtain and retain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission.
