Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) - Research, Technology, and Engineering (RT&E), Palmdale Aircraft and Integration Center of Excellence (PAICoE), Systems, Integration, Test and Evaluation (SIT&E) Department has an opening for a Ground Stations (GS) Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.
Provide direction and oversight as 2nd shift GS Lead for Flight Test (FT) and Ground Test (GT) events, with the flexibility to work alternate shifts in emergency situations
Coordinates with 1st shift GS Lead for seamless handoff of FT/GT events and responsibilities
Supports GS modifications, upgrades, audits, inspections, maintenance, and security
Produce and maintain GS policies, procedures, training, and maintenance materials
Coordinates maintenance and upgrades with GS Responsible Engineers (REs) and Technicians
Participate in Risk & Opportunity Management, Root Cause / Corrective Action (RCCA) events, and Lean initiatives as required
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate must be able to collaborate closely with other Systems Test Engineers, Managers, and Test Conductors.
Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of relevant engineering experience (electrical, aerospace, mechanical, etc); Master's Degree and 3 years; or PhD with 0 years
Previous experience with GS equipment and architecture
Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher with background investigation completed within the last 5 years
Ability to obtain and maintain program access
Knowledge of Flight Test best practices, processes, and procedures
Strong leadership, management, communication, and interpersonal skills
2 years of relevant experience providing guidance in a lead or leadership role
Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
An active in-scope DoD Top Secret / SCI clearance
