Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal or Senior Principal Project Manager to join our Strike team. The selected candidate will be part of the Program Integration Team supporting onsite in Palmdale, CA with some travel between Palmdale and San Diego as required.
The overall responsibilities include executable tasks that will enable IPT leadership to achieve operational excellence.
Dynamic Restricted Strike Organization, seeking a team player who will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as a liaison between project management and planning, project team, and program leadership. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients. Able to facilitate and act as the subject matter expert on program risk, issue, and opportunity reporting.
Regular responsibilities may include the following:
Review status of projects and budgets, manage schedules, and prepare status reports
Assessment of project issues and development of resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
Manage deliverables to internal and external stakeholders
Facilitate program risks, issues, and opportunities meetings and reporting
Support and lead role for new business proposal writing and team organization
Facilitate internal and customer meetings including meeting logistics, presentation material templates, collection, and content generation, meeting attendance for on-site integration, action item tracking, and post-meeting follow-up
Maintaining organization charts
SharePoint curation
Conduct business travel up to 10 % of the time from Palmdale, CA., to Rancho Bernardo, CA.
Must be highly detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and a skilled communicator
Basic Qualifications for Principal Project Manager:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and 5 years of experience in Project Management, Program Integration/Execution; 3 years with master’s degree; 1 year with PhD
Experience with Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project)
Knowledge of Project Management principles
Risk/issue/opportunities (RIO) experience
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance that is in-scope (granted or renewed in the last 6 years) and be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Project Manager:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and 8 years of experience in Project Management, Program Integration/Execution; 6 years with master’s degree
Experience with Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project)
Knowledge of Project Management principles
Risk/issue/opportunities (RIO) experience
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance that is in-scope (granted or renewed in the last 6 years) and be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

Control Account Manager (CAM) experience/certification

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Experience and ability to autonomously assess complex problems and decompose them into a plan of action while coordinating across a large, diverse team of program, business, and technical SMEs
Aerospace and/or Defense Industry Experience
Salary Range: $88,700 - $133,100
Salary Range 2: $109,900 - $164,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
