The Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Human Resources organization is seeking a Principal HR Business Partner to implement our human capital strategy supporting the Global Supply Chain organization. This position will be based in Palmdale, CA with required travel between the various sites.

The selected candidate will partner with business leaders to ensure a complete understanding of business needs and objectives and to resolve HR issues. In addition, the selected candidate will have opportunities to participate in and lead HR Business Partner strategic projects, utilizing the ability to plan, implement, and close multiple projects simultaneously on various topics within the HR body of knowledge.

The selected candidate must be able to work in partnership with client groups and HR peers across multiple sites. Primary responsibilities include serving as the business partner and consultant to internal client groups to help build organizational capability to meet sector and organizational strategic goals. The HR Business Partner will develop and implement value-added HR programs and initiatives, supporting all aspects of HR for assigned client groups including performance management, employee relations, compensation, rewards and recognition, succession planning, organizational and staff development, and change management. The selected candidate should have the proven ability to lead cross-functional projects to completion, including organizing, prioritizing, planning, scheduling, and following up on concurrent tasks, elevating issues and obtaining additional resources, when necessary.

Solid, broad-based human resources background, with an emphasis in touch labor and supply chain or manufacturing experience is preferred. Other areas of expertise include, change management, organization effectiveness, and leadership development; demonstrated ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization and across multiple sites; effective interpersonal skills, influencing, consulting and negotiating skills, business savvy, strong problem solving, and systems skills required. The selected candidate will have excellent analytical, communication, and critical thinking skills, and the ability to function in high demand situations. This person has the ability to navigate cultural and business sensitivities within a large organization to drive performance, employee engagement, inclusion, and accountability.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of progressive HR experience; 4 years with a Master's degree

  • Working knowledge of HR policies and practices

  • Experience working with touch labor and supply chain or manufacturing employees

  • Proven experience with talent management, leadership bench development, employee relations issues, compensation, total rewards, performance management, and talent acquisition strategies

  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current DOD Secret clearance

  • Extensive and current HR experience working in a fast-pace environment

  • Experience leading organizations through change

  • Experience leading large scale projects/ HR project management expertise

  • Strong HRIS and Talent Management data and query experience
