Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has a current opening for a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer in our Palmdale, CA facility.
Essential Functions:
Leads supplier quality portion of non-conformance product issues using established systems
Executes Quality tools that apply to the product and suppliers assigned. Quality Engineering tools such as: sampling plans, auditing principals, SPC, MSA, First Articles, FMEA, PFMEA, calibration systems, etc to understand and ultimately resolve issues in the supply base.
Solid understanding and implementation of the relevant product or customer specifications, flow down documents, procedures, engineering or process drawings and regulating agent body requirements that apply to the products and suppliers assigned
Issues, monitors and maintains corrective action database
Works effectively with suppliers to resolve problems using Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) tools
Proactively analyze supplier performance data to determine continuous improvement opportunities to improve supplier performance.
Consult and advise with the Sourcing team to select, manage assigned suppliers
Leads/performs supplier business assessment activity
Performs Design of Experiments (DOE) as needed
Knowledge of Zero Defect plan (ZDP) is preferred
Mentors less experienced SQE's, as required
Leads, directs and manages multiple projects effectively
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 4 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing or Engineering OR a Master's Degree in STEM with 2 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing or Engineering
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Current and active DoD Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience SAP, MES, TeamCenter, GD&T, Catia; Green Belt Certification
Knowledge of Supply Chain Management processes
Experienced working with nonconforming material investigations and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
AS9100 Certification
CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) Certification
