Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.

The selected candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman as the Production Support leader toprogram specificEngineering IPTs in NGC's Palmdale Manufacturing Center (PMC). Roles and Responsibilities include:

Essential Functions:

  • Lead a team of approximately 10 on-site and off-site Engineers

  • Provide leadership and communicate day to day direction to IPT Leadership

  • Act as CAM for GH/Triton Production Support Engineering budgets

  • Responsible for all Sustaining Engineering for the GH/Triton Liaison Engineering SOW for Production and Palmdale Flight Test. Unmanned Programs that may require Liaison assistance for their build and/or Flight test

  • Coordinate with local and remote production facilities of Major Subcontractors (Aurora Flight Sciences (W.Va.), NGC (Moss Point, Miss.) and Triumph Aerostructures (Red Oak, Tx.)

  • Responsible for coordinating Engineering and Production issues with PMC Production Management and Rancho Bernardo (RB) Management

  • Responsible for coordinating Engineering updates annually for Standard Repair/Disposition Release

  • Ensuring engineering team members are familiar with and adhere to Sector and Program Engineering processes and procedures.

  • The candidate must be able to balance customer contractual needs and requirements while developing solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints.

  • Support of proposal activities, staffing projections, and technical leadership for all upgrade, modernization, and sustainment engineering activities associated with various platforms, mainly GH and Triton

  • Responsible to execute Minor Class II changes as required

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree (or equivalent) in a Technical Engineering Discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, etc.)

  • A minimum of5 years of Aerospace related experience, including 4+ years of Liaison/Production Support/Sustaining Engineering experience.

  • Experience in Structural or Mechanical Engineering Design/Analysis.

  • DoD Secret clearance required.

  • Have experience working in MES

  • Must be able tosupport extended shifts and weekends, when needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in an Engineering Field.

  • MRB qualified with 5 yrs experience.

  • 2+ years of management experience.

  • 2+ years of Structural or Mechanical Design/Analysis.

  • Experience with CATIA v5 and ECR processing

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and managerial skills.
