Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Structural Test Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, Ca.
Must be able to obtain and maintain program access
The Structural Test Manager will be responsible for leading an organization involving large scale structural testing.
Responsible for all technical, cost, and schedule within the Structural Test Team for Specialty Test including EVMS & CAM leadership
Day to day management execution of operations that integrate highly effective, competitively priced, low risk test plans and execution solutions
Implement and manage a high performance structural test team which will include upfront design engineering, test planning, test execution and data collection and transmittal to customer. Ensure that all products are developed and final deliveries meet all negotiated requirements
Selected candidate will assess productivity, goals, objectives and customer satisfaction and manage all aspects of specialty test, material procurement, as well as, test lab integration
Customer coordination for both baseline SOW execution and future growth
Provides timely resource forecasts to IPT/functional organizations and assures proper staffing is in place to execute the SOW, while maintaining an integrated schedule. Drives process rigor, and ensures compliance to meet company, program and security requirements
Works to continually improve culture of our programs and management excellence. Collaborates with programs to satisfy staffing needs and provide operations support (metrics collection and analysis, etc.)
Sets Talent+ goals and providing regular performance feedback to employees. Supports the annual salary review and promotion process
Mentors and develops the next generation of technical and project leadership. Improves and enforces test engineering processes and procedures
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
Minimum 7 years of experience in at least one of the following: Systems development experience; Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, systems architecture, Communications, Data links, Computer networks, Sensors, COTS hardware, instrumentation systems, integration, and/or structural test execution
Minimum 3 years of Leadership experience as a Lead or Manager of staff
A current DoD Secret level security clearance, to include a Single Scope Background Investigation, a periodic reinvestigation, or an original adjudication date completed within the last 6 years
A current Top Secret/SCI level security clearance
Experience with SIT&E processes and procedures to support both management and engineering tasks with Military Aircraft Systems
Automated Test Experience
Familiarity with current programs across NGC AS Sector
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
