Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Contracts Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Palmdale, CA or Oklahoma, OK.

The position reports directly to the Director of Contracts, Military Aircraft Systems (MAS) and is a matrix report to the Program Business Manager. This individual will be accountable to the program office, the program business director, and CPRM organization for the performance of the program contracts organization and will partner with the leaders of the other program Business Management functions including Cost, Schedule and Pricing & Estimating management teams. Selected candidate will be responsible for leading the growth, development, and management of the Contracts staff on the B-2 program.

The Contract Manager's responsibility includes being able to make decisions in a timely manner, offer guidance and work cooperatively with a multitude of organizations ranging from technical, program, finance, global supply chain, export, and security for seamless contract administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct supervision and oversight of management and professional staff, and for providing objective-oriented direction utilizing management guidelines & general policies while maintaining a strong level of engagement. Additionally, job duties will include review and approval of contractual documents for the protection of the company's contractual/risk posture, satisfaction of contractual terms, identify flow down requirements and adherence to company policies and procedures. Candidate will also be responsible for planning, strategy and executing successful contract negotiations of a complex nature to achieve favorable terms and conditions, which advance financial objectives (sale, profit & cash). Duties will also include partnering with the Program and Business Leadership actively contributing to the development and implementation of the Program Business Strategy.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 9+years' experience in contracting or related fields, or a Master's Degree and 7+years of contracting experience or related fields.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and negotiation skills.

  • Successfully demonstrated leadership performance of a team of leaders and individual contributors in a similar environment is required.

  • Working knowledge of FAR and DFARS is necessary

  • Posses in-scope secret level Department of Defense clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's or other advanced degree

  • Over 10 years in government contracting experience

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to develop presentations and brief to all levels of leadership, both externally and internally.

  • Strong customer orientation and demonstrated relationship building with all Customers, internal and external.

  • Dynamic self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to successfully juggle multiple competing priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills; ability to make recommendations and provide guidance to effectively drive projects to completion.

  • Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic program and business area leadership team.

  • Hands-on experience working in Contracts with U.S. Navy, Air Force and Prime Contractors is highly desirable.

  • Working knowledge of CAS, cost estimating, financial reporting, and risk assessment techniques is desirable

  • Working knowledge of government acquisition, planning and budgeting processes/cycles is also desirable.

  • Existing security access to B-2 classified material
