Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Line Maintenance Tech 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.

The ideal candidate will have a work history appropriate to the mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical skill areas in the installation, operation, and maintenance of production line equipment and machinery. Candidate’s primary assignment includes planned, preventative, troubleshooting and repair maintenance. Some jobs may be in extreme/dirty environments – outdoors or confined spaces, or working in and around flight line operations. Must be comfortable working at heights. Job scope includes sustaining automated manufacturing equipment including robotics, CNC machine tools, PC based production equipment, warehouse/automated retrieval systems, and building mechanical systems such as overhead cranes, hoists, lifts and roll-up/ hangar doors.

In addition, the candidate should have knowledge of and experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, machine controls, motors/ generators, bearings/ seals, and mechanical power transmission systems. The candidate must be proficient with the use of electronic and digital test equipment and precision measurement tools to perform troubleshooting and repair of listed types of equipment in addition to a variety of hand and power tools and be computer and schematic literate. Must be familiar and trained with electrical safety, arc flash, and lock out/tag out/block out (LOTOBO), respirator, man lifts, boom lifts, etc.

Secondary duties include:

  • Reporting on work orders

  • Conserving maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

  • Performing machine condition- risk assessments and critical spare parts inventories studies.

  • Support Lean-sigma and total preventive maintenance (TPM) methodologies as required.

  • Work with limited supervision

  • Duties as otherwise assigned.

Candidate required to safely team with other organizational technicians and lead, OEM – vendors/contractors, and sometime work across shifts or with infrastructure- buildings maintenance, during Holidays and during planned or unplanned outages to achieve goals and customer satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications:

AA or other related technical degree and 3 years maintenance technician experience including mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical/electronic. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Robotics experience is a plus.
