Our team in Palmdale is excited to add a Senior Instrumentation Electrical Design Engineer to our growing team. In this role you will utilize your expertise to develop and modify engineering drawings related to instrumentation systems for laboratory, ground and flight test activities. In this constantly evolving role, you will do everything from engineering design tasks, act as a key participant in electrical design reviews, and create electrical symbol assignments for CAD components. As part of our team, you will work in a dynamic people-focused environment while interacting with customers and other design engineers.
Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) plus5 years of design engineering experience OR Master's Degree in STEM plus3 years of design engineering experience
Must be familiar with signal and power wiring methods, grounding and bonding, RF cabling concepts, bus topologies, and part number selections.
Candidates should be able to define instrumentation system configurations such as: electrical sensor selection, installation methods, checkout requirements, and operational procedures under some guidance.
Must have an Active Secret Clearance to start.
Knowledge of telemetry and RF, onboard recording systems and ground stations, sub-systems and specialized test equipment Instrumentation with the ability to troubleshoot LRU's and operate test equipment.
Support test activities, anomaly resolution and process improvement initiatives. Experience with the integration, test, and operation of telemetry based COTS data acquisition systems and working knowledge of communication protocols such as MIL-STD 1553, Ethernet, and Fiber Channel.
Candidates should be familiar with the engineering development cycle, along with engineering configuration management concepts.
Knowledge or experience navigating MIL-STD documents and specifications is helpful.
Experience with MATLAB, C++, or other software development/processing tools is preferred.
