Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is seeking an Environmental, Safety, Health and Medical Manager 2 for the Palmdale, CA site.
This position will report to the site Environmental, Safety, Health and Medical Manager and manage a team of health and safety professionals with a focus on regulatory compliance, injury prevention and occupational health services.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing injury prevention programs, developing compliance strategies for new and existing health and safety regulations and/or company policies, and supporting planning for changes in physical facilities to meet regulatory requirements.
Specific functional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Engagement and consultation with site leadership to foster a safety and health culture across the site.
Collaboration with site ESHM Managers to harmonize company ESHM policies and procedures.
Leading serious injury investigations and interfacing with regulatory agencies and oversight organizations such as OSHA, US Air Force and CalOSHA during inspections and audits.
Developing and providing safety related training programs for touch labor, engineers and management.
Manage occupational health programs including industrial hygiene monitoring and surveillance.
Manage site Medical unit that provides routine employee occupational health screening and treatment of minor injuries.
Manage department budget and identifying opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
Providing input to federal and state regulators through trade associations and industry groups for the writing and revision of regulations.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and 9 years of experience or a Masters degree and 7 years of experience
2-3 years of Leadership/ Supervisory or Lead experience
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain Special Program Access
Preferred Qualifications :
Previous DoD, Military or Aerospace facilities experience.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
Salary Range: $125,500 - $188,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
