Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for aMechanical Engineer3to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.

The selected candidate will develop and release engineering detail, assembly and installation designs pertaining to installation of aircraft subsystem LRU's, RF cables, wire harnesses and support hardware.

Essential Functions:

  • Engineer will develop solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives

  • Engineer will coordinate with other disciplines during the development of solutions, and must have the ability to clearly communicate to them

  • Engineer will evaluate engineering products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications as required.

Candidate must possess strong leadership ability and be capable of providing sound judgment in support of design activities and aerospace manufacturing operations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and5+ years of Engineering experience OR

  • Master's Degree in STEM and3+ years ofEngineeringexperience

  • A DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance with background investigations within scope of six years

  • Ability to obtain & maintain all required security clearances and Program specific accesses

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in CATIA V5

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ME/AE/CE)

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
