Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a vehicle Integration & Mechanical Design Engineer3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Mojave/Palmdale, California.

The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing Vehicle Integration & Mechanical Design plans. Individuals possessing specialized knowledge, skills and proficiencies required to design the program requirement. Responsibilities include developing the preliminary installation layout of subsystems such as electrical cable assemblies, fuel and hydraulic tube, mechanism and support brackets. Ability to prepare detail, assembly, and installation design packages Build to Packages (BTP) from the established layouts using 3D computer aided design graphic tool. Proficient in designing sheet metal and machine fittings and brackets utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) in 3D environment. In addition, candidate will process Material Review Board (MRB) Nonconformance Reports (tags), engineering change requests, supplier generated MRB tags and RC/I's (Request for Change/Information). The selected candidate will work with Customer, Operations, Quality Assurance and Engineering Design organizations in/on problem resolution(s). Key skills necessary to provide high quality, rapid and cost-effective dispositions of hardware nonconformance experienced during build, installation, test flight line and operational environments.

Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering from an accredited university and minimum5years of engineering experience OR a Master's Degree with3 years of experience.

Experience with Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Experience with BTP development, applicable notes, BOM, sign-off process.

Experience with CPLM, Teamcenter, FiberSIM, CATIA V5 and/or NX-CAD.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in STEM and5 years of engineering experience

Knowledge of NGC best design practices and applicable processes.

Experience leading engineering projects

  • Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
