The Cyber Systems Engineer maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
Experience addressing STIGs and IAVMs on network devices
A solid understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, routing protocols, and network designs
Experience configuring, installing, and supporting network equipment such as firewalls, routers, and switches, maximizing network efficiency and security
Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches
· Experience developing and updating internal documentation for projects and network engineering functions
· Strong troubleshooting skills involving diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems
· Must possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level I or higher (Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, CCNA-Security)
· Must have a DoD Secret clearance or higher
Industry vendor certifications from Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCSP) are a plus
Experience with protocol analyzers/sniffers such as Wireshark
Experience in virtualization technologies such as VMware, vCenter, or vSphere
Experience working with Encryption devices
The ability to work individually or collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently at times, in a fast-paced environment.
