Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Ogden, UT and will support the Ground Subsystems Support Contract (GSSC) program.

What you'll get to do:

  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

  • Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

This position may have a 9/80 work schedule available. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.



You'll bring these qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline

  • A Bachelor's degree with a minimum 9 years of related experience in systems engineering, program management, production and manufacturing, field deployment, and/or qualification testing; 7 years with a Master's; or 4 years with a PhD

  • Advanced Linux/Cisco network administration and engineering experience

  • A minimum 10 years RVA Program experience (e.g., deployment & sustainment), and a minimum 5 years RVA NOC experience

  • Cisco CCNA and CompTIA Security+ Certifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance

These qualifications would be nice to have:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance or higher

  • Demonstrated experience with the Remote Visual Assessment (RVA) System, and RVA Program custom Python scripting

  • Cyber vulnerability analysis experience

  • Aerospace / ICBM maintenance experience

  • Knowledge in design of mechanical and electrical ICBM subsystems

  • Knowledge of the ICBM missile field, security forces, and ICBM SPO

  • Excellent time management, schedule estimation, and delegation skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work in an integrated product team (IPT) environment

  • Results focused, work well within a dynamic environment, be self-motivated, able to work in a team environment, and be able to produce reliable products and documentation within established deadlines

  • Attention to detail

  • Demonstrated leadership ability
