The Systems Engineering Specialties Dept. is seeking a Principal Systems Safety Engineer to join a group of talented engineers in Northridge, CA . The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on complex missile systems alongside a multi-disciplinary team. We are looking for an individual that is passionate, driven, seeks challenges, and goal oriented.
*CANDIDATES MUST HAVE A CURRENT/ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION*
In this position, the selected candidate will (but not be limited to):
•Analyze, recommend, and drive safety criteria in system design, equipment, and procedures in order to mitigate or eliminate hazards
•Perform technical planning, verification and validation, & risk analyses at all levels of the system life cycle
•Apply engineering principles and standards to support, develop, or review System/Subsystem Hazard Analysis, Bent Pin Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Sneak Circuit Analysis, Software System Safety Analysis, Functional Hazard Analysis, and Failure Modes Effects & Criticality Analysis
•Develop, review, update, and approve system safety artifacts and hardware/software safety requirements
•Identify technical issues, propose solutions, and ensure appropriate action is taken to resolve the technical issues
•Participate in and lead various system safety meetings with both internal and external stakeholders

Basic Qualifications :
•BS in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related STEM discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or MS with 3 years of relevant experience
•Familiarity with requirements development
•Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and customers
•Current/active Secret clearance (or higher) that has been adjudicated within the past 5 years
Preferred Qualifications :
•Experience with concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal of military weapon systems
•Experience analyzing software specifications
•Experience using the following standards/codes: MIL-STD-882, AFSPCMAN 91-710, ASTM, ANSI, NEC, AFOSH, PESHE, NFPA, DO-178, OSHA.
•Experience developing system safety artifacts
•Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
