Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Requirements and System development w/ Security Clearance to work with our talented Advanced Weapons team in Northridge, CA. The ideal candidate will be supporting one of our Advanced Programs for analyzing, developing, and managing the system and subsystems requirements for our missile weapon system. This position will require close collaboration with team members of other projects to leverage on existing technology as well as working with the program team to innovate system architecture to adapt to the industry and customer's needs.
In this role, the selected candidate will (but not be limited to):
Support system requirements development, management, analysis, and traceability, to translate customer requirements and CONOPS into systems requirements, and further allocate to lower level requirements
Perform functional analysis and systems trade studies for technical solutions with respect to concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance
Assist with the generation of well-defined and executable system and subsystem requirements documents, interface documents, and test and verification documents
Support system architecture development and system/subsystem allocations and designs
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure system/subsystem designs align with system requirements
Support system/subsystems integration, test, and requirements verification activities
Support system technical performance measurement definition and tracking
Support the preparation of system engineering materials during System Requirements Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, System Verification Review, Test Readiness Review, and other program reviews as needed
Interface with inter-organizational management and external Customer to communicate technical briefing and program status
Support Program Management activities to ensure cost and schedule objectives are met
Support the management of critical subcontractors developing and testing tactical missile technologies and delivery of quality products.
This position can be filled as a Principal (T03) or Sr. Principal (T04) level.

Active DoD Secret Clearance
Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of systems engineering experience with a minimum of two (2) years of requirements development experience
Experience with system/subsystem integration, test, and verification
Experience working in the defense industry.
Must have proven experience in communicating with all levels of peers, management and customers in a methodical, detailed and process-oriented fashion.
Must have demonstrated experience in solving technical problems independently with minimal supervision.
Must have experience with DOORS - (Engineering Requirements Management Tool)
Basic qualifications for a Sr. Principal level (T04) are:
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of nine (9) years of systems engineering experience with a minimum of four (4) years of requirements development experience
Experience with system/subsystem integration, test, and verification
Experience working in the defense industry
Must have proven experience in communicating with all levels of peers, management and customers in a methodical, detailed and process-oriented fashion
Must have demonstrated experience in solving technical problems independently with minimal supervision
Must have experience with DOORS - (Engineering Requirements Management Tool)
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret Clearance with periodic reinvestigation within the last five (5) years
Experience working on missile products
Experience with systems designs with Model-Based Systems Engineering
Experience in digital engineering

Salary Range: $104,600 - $157,000
Salary Range 2: $129,700 - $194,500
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
