Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking a cleared Principal (T03) or Sr. Principal (T04) Electrical Engineer (Analog & Digital) for tactical missile system development and production programs in Northridge, CA .

In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Develops, coordinates and conducts Analog, Power and Digital designs and evaluations of engineering design concepts.

• Develops and experienced in RTL coding using VHDL and is proficient with hardware development using state of the art both Xilinx and Intel (Altera) FPGA development toolsets.

• Define, analyze, and review systems requirements and develop strategies for integration of new hardware into existing system architecture

• Developing electrical loads analysis and design of electrical power distribution systems

• Defining and/or modifying existing electrical interfaces between subsystems

• Perform systems integration and test of new electronics

• Collaborate with systems engineers, software engineers, and hardware engineers in planning design and development of systems to ensure software and hardware performance and compatibility

• Write test plans and test cases

• Conduct system-level testing

• Conduct verification and validation (V&V) testing

Some relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available.

This position can be filled as a Principal (T03) or a Sr. Principal (T04) level. Basic qualifications for each position are listed below.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications for a Principal (T03):

• Current/active Secret Clearance.

• BS degree in an Engineering field.

• 5-8 years of electrical engineering experience.

• Proven experience in RTL coding using VHDL and is proficient with hardware development.

• Demonstrated experience in Analog, Power and Digital product design and development.

• Proven hands on design experience of board level and system level products.

• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships are a must.

• Ability to communicate findings to customers and management.

• Self-starter capable of performing assigned tasks with some direction.

• Innovated thinker with a demonstrated ability of solving complex problems which require ingenuity and "out of the box" ideas.

• Ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal (T04):

• Current/active Secret Clearance.

• BS degree in an Engineering field.

• 9-13 years of electrical engineering experience.

• Proven experience in RTL coding using VHDL and is proficient with hardware development.

• Demonstrated experience in Analog, Power and Digital product design and development.

• Proven hands on design experience of board level and system level products.

• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships are a must.

• Ability to communicate findings to customers and management.

• Self-starter capable of performing assigned tasks with some direction.

• Innovated thinker with a demonstrated ability of solving complex problems which require ingenuity and "out of the box" ideas.

• Ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS or higher in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
