Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is looking for you to join our growing team as an Associate Engineer, Mission Assurance / Supplier Quality. This is a hybrid position; blending both Mission Assurance and Supplier Quality Engineering roles together to support a vast range of responsibilities. The Mission Assurance team monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure the mission success of the program and works with the various teams to promote continuous MRB reduction and process improvements are implemented. In addition, we assess program performance and risks to contractual requirements and help to determine resources and activities to ensure compliance.
Additionally, the Supplier Quality portion of this role will be associated with design, fabrication, and inspection of materials/components used in our production lines including materials and hardware both in-house and at supplier facilities. You'll develop, plan, and implement quality methods and strategies for procured items to assure the design, procurement, acceptance, and use of procured items. Also, apply problem solving/critical thinking skills to support and resolve issues with supplied items that impact the production line. You must interface effectively with suppliers, customers, work associates/teams, and management.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
•Develop and implement program quality inspection plans.
•Develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems.
•Work with the Engineering team to ensure that part requirements are correctly described and documented in the production work plans.
•Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance.
•Participate with corrective action or improvement teams and promote the use of data to assist in the improvement effort.
•Initiate Corrective Action Plans and work with suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering personnel to identify root causes and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented.
•Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures.
•Conducts product and process verification activities and monitors supplier quality performance.
•Preparation of first article inspection packages for internal approval or presentation to the final customer.
•Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks.
•Processing of MRB nonconformances and conducts Supplier Investigations
•Supports the Program, Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams with data analytics for improvement processes.
•Conduct or support internal audits, process observations, and area assessments.
•Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor, suppliers, procurement, and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree and no years of experience
• Experience conveying technical information (both written and verbal)
• Experience with M.S. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to obtain DoD Clearance when or if required
• Must be willing to support other shifts as needed
• Must be willing to travel as needed
• Great communication and people skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in STEM
• Aerospace, manufacturing, quality, and/or supplier quality experience
• Knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective Action methods
• Knowledge of continuous improvement principles
• Knowledge of LEAN/Kaizen/Six Sigma
• Knowledge of SAP System
• Knowledge of Drawings/3D Modeling/Solid Works/CATIA
• Knowledge of data analysis methods and tools
• Independent and able to work with little supervision
Salary Range: $60,600 - $91,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
