Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Aircraft Structures Mechanic Level 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Moss Point, Mississippi .
The selected candidate will perform a variety of operations to assemble and make major assembly structures, including fuselage panels and bulkheads.
Read and understand blueprints
Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include: precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools
Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
Performing part-fitting operations: filing sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming
Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
Required ability to perform moderately strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, working overhead, and climbing ladders
Must be able to lift over 25lbs
Must be able to access small confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment
Must be willing to work any shift or work schedule
Completed High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 4 years of structures experience in an aerospace, military, manufacturing, or maintenance environment
Minimum of 4 years of experience with aircraft assembly
Experience reading, understanding, and translating blueprints
Completion of an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification
Completion of an Aircraft Fabrication or equivalent program
Experience with structural subassemblies such as, fuel-tank sealing, rudders, flaps and stabilizers
Experience installing Line Replaceable Units (LRU) and dry plumbing systems
Experience with system subassemblies such as, hydraulic and electrical installations
