Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector (NGMS) is seeking a Staff Embedded C/C++ Software Engineer to join our Secure Processing team within the Software Technologies Organization.
This role will work in an exciting area of custom use ASIC development. We are working with SoC design, development, and implementation. Job Duties :
The Staff Embedded Software Engineer will join a team of engineers performing new feature development and enhancements, providing secure, embedded solutions to many customer platforms. The selected engineer will aid in the design, development, and integration of complex software solutions in a rapid-pace Agile environment. Primary software solutions in development include C/C++ device drivers, middleware, and application development for Linux and/or VxWorks Platforms. The engineer will interface with architects and systems engineers to develop technical specifications. The engineer will help identify technical risks, support defect resolution, and report status to Agile program leads. This person will also assist in the execution of unit, system, and integrations tests as need. We also have agile leadership roles available for those who qualify.
This position is located onsite at our Morrisville, NC location.
Basic Qualifications:
14 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other STEM discipline; 12 years with Masters; 9 years with a PhD
Experience with C/C++ Hands-on experience working in embedded real-time operating systems, both kernel and application side development (e.g., Linux, VxWorks, ZephyrOS, FreeRTOS, Greenhills Integrity)
Strong HW/SW integration skills
US citizenship
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance and SAP prior to starting employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong C/C++ background, Python background, and some knowledge in JAVA, JVM & RMI
Experience working on an Agile (Scrum) team.
Tools: Git, Atlassian (BitBucket, Confluence, Jira), Jenkins, static & dynamic code analysis (i.e., SonarQube)
Experience developing boot software (First stage bootloader, U-boot, UEFI, etc.) for custom boards.
Applied cryptography and middleware experience (e.g., OpenSSL, TLS
Experience developing register-level models of hardware IP in SystemC/TLM
Experience developing Device Tree files for custom hardware.
Experience designing software for custom, microprocessor-based embedded systems.
Experience with driver and application development using embedded OS.
Size and speed optimizing software for embedded platforms.
Modifying and integrating open-source software.
DevOps practices and tools.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $225,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
