Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a Principal Visualization Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Monterey, CA.

Remote/Telework will be considered and is possible for this opportunity.

You will become part of the organization supporting the Army Analytics Group's Research Facilitation Laboratory located there. The team conducts a variety of research studies and supports data analytics efforts for clients across the Army, Office of the Secretary of Defense and greater DoD, conducting high-quality research with practical real-world implications. The team works primarily within a data environment that houses a wealth of administrative, personnel, survey, and medical data (i.e., big data) on extremely large populations. Projects generally focus on resilience, health, and readiness among military service members, and include population-based studies, machine learning projects, visual analytics platforms, measurement analysis, and pilot program evaluations.

Visualization Development role & responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop highly scalable solutions and make recommendations to help solve problems and/or improve processes.

  • Architect, build and maintain analytics applications and products which includes connecting data sources, analyzing data, building business logic and create and configure visualization solutions.

  • Design, build, and maintain repeatable,consistent visualization solutions to display results of analytical products toexternal customers.

  • Work in and with multiple visualization tools, such asTableau, R-Shiny, or others.

  • Analyze and clean data to integrate withfront-end tools.

  • Perform data analytics and processing of digital data; statistical computing, machine learning, data mining, optimization, simulation

  • Participate in ongoing evolution, improvement, and automation of data products and solutions

  • Work independently to learn and translate research algorithms and methodologies to scalable software

  • Apply agile and software engineering principles to gather business requirements and translate to functional/technical specifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelorsin Science with 5+ years of development experience; a minimum of 3 years with Masters; 0 years with PhD.

  • Experience and expertise in design & development of data visualization solutions.

  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain & maintain a Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building visualization solutions in DoD Information Systems.

  • Work in and with multiple visualization tools, such asTableau, R-Shiny, or others.

  • Developing code to create custom visualization solutions.

  • Data analysis experience.

  • Experience configuring systems in AWS GovCloud environment.
