Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems located in Mojave, CA has an immediate opening for an Engineer Hardware 4.
Integration and Test at Northrop Grumman is looking for a senior hardware engineer to support our exciting new DARPA funded Tern program, a vertical takeoff to horizontal transitioning air vehicle that is set to revolutionalize and expand the capabilities of unmanned aircraft. The engineer would lead a team of test and data acquisition engineers to support flight test operations and data handling/processing. The work would be out at Mojave, CA, with likelihood to be transferred to Palmdale, CA as the base of operations.
Instrumentation Hardware Engineer responsible for Tern flight test instrumentation design, requirements gathering, sensor installations and data acquisition system checkouts. Leads a team of instrumentation and mission control room engineers. Work is out in Mojave, CA. Extensive knowledge or experience with:
-Teletronics Hardware and Software Systems
-Symvionics IADS real-time data systems
-Sensor installations and checkouts: Pressure, accelerometers, strain gages, thermocouples, string pots, etc.
-Data Acquisition checkout Acceptance Test Procedure documentation
-Worked in a flight test environment, familiar with air vehicle avionics and flight controls systems and how they interface with instrumentation
-Databuses: 1394, Ethernet, 1553, serial
-Instrumentation hardware installations on a test air vehicle, including cable routing
-Mission Control Room design and build for engineers to monitor real-time data from the air vehicle during test.
-Telemetry, RF and IRIG 106 PCM experience
-Master Parameter List
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.
Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)along with a 9 years overall engineering experience
1 years' experience with flight test data acquisition systems, designing these systems from scratch, creating wiring schematics, integrating the data acquisition system hardware and checking out the system.
1 years' experience operating a mission control room and familiar with the flight test environment.
1 years' experience with various sensor types such as strain gages, accelerometers, pressure sensors.
Experience leading a team of instrumentation and data engineers in flight test to complete envelope expansion testing.
Designed and built up a mission control room with intercom and real-time data display capability.
Worked with Teletronics hardware and software systems and IADS software.
