Northrop Grumman is seeking an entry-levelEmbedded Software Engineer to support the full software development life cycle of various applications in an aviation service center. This position will be located at Martin State Airport in Middle River, MD.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Airborne Systems Integration Center.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, operates and maintains software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to and integrated with engineering, scientific and manufacturing requirements.

  • Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products such as laboratory simulation systems, display systems, mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Interfaces with customers, suppliers, application users and other technical and support personnel.

  • Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC)

  • Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to identify requirements and solutions

  • Write well-designed, testable code

  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system

  • Document and maintain software functionality

  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems

  • Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications

  • Integrate software components and third-party programs

  • Create technical documentation for reference and reporting

  • Collaborate with business analysts and developers to produce software designs

  • Formulate program specifications and basic prototypes

  • Transform software designs and specifications into high functioning code in the appropriate language

Basic Qualifications:

  • Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) from an accredited institution.

  • Be majoring in or have majored in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related technical discipline

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a SecretU.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher

  • Experience designing interactive applications

  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL

  • Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment

  • Ability to learn new languages and technologies

  • Ability to develop software in C# and C++ Familiar with LabVIEW
