Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Manager of IT, 2 to join our offices in Mesa, AZ .

Role description & Responsibilities:

Lead a team of professionals engaged in business and systems analysis and software application development, deployment, integration, and maintenance. The Applications Services team supports Northrop Grumman's Armament Systems business unit through services that support back-office, program management, engineering, and manufacturing systems. The team uses various IT industry tools and state of the art technologies to provide this support. The successful candidate will:

  • Set team direction, resolve problems and provide guidance to staff

  • Leverage strong customer service skills

  • Manage supplier relationships

  • Meet organizational goals through proper businesspractices, work processes, and metrics

  • Effectively prioritize projects and resources per established strategies and objectives

  • Plan, forecast, and optimize the department's resourceworkload

  • Reinforce and improve the department's standards,processes, and procedures

  • Prepare and deliver professional communications (both written and verbal)

  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of NGC systems, policies and procedures

  • Manage local application-specific production support processes and report needs

  • Identify enhancements to improve supportability, operability or performance of applications

  • Identify, sponsor and implement continuous improvement initiatives

  • Participate in the budget process including software maintenance and license management

  • Travel 10-15% in support of distributed staff and projects

Requirements :

  • 8+ years of app dev and support experience in an enterprise environment

  • 3+ years of management experience

  • 2+ years of leading distributed teams or projects

  • 5+ years of software methodologies and system architecture experience

  • 5+ years of providing solutions using withMicrosoft's .NET development environment

  • 5+ years of application development using MS-SQL

  • 3+ years application development using Oracle DB

  • 3+ years of MS-SQL/Oracle DBA experience

  • 3+ years of coding in Visual C#

  • 5+ years of large COTS software implementations (100+ users)

  • 2+ years of supporting and integrating with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems

  • 5+ years of version management, bug/issue tracking, and project managementsoftware tools

  • 5+ years using an enterprise ITIL tool for tracking requests, incidents, and change management

  • 2+ years of report development using Cognos, SRS, or other reporting tool

Preferred :

Some experience with the following is preferred, but not required:

  • Deltek Costpoint ERP

  • Kronos Timekeeper or other time tracking system

  • Jira/Git

  • Manufacturing Execution Systems

  • Quality Management Systems

Skills and Qualifications :

The successful candidate will have acquired the following through their experiences or education:

  • Strong skills in Project Management

  • Broad understanding of Aerospace and Defense industry

  • Strong knowledge of Manufacturing Operations Managementmethodologies

  • Broad understanding of Deltek products and interfaces

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, InformationTechnology, or related field

  • Master's degree is preferred

  • PMP Certification is preferred
