Northrop Grumman Windows Systems Administrator/Analyst - Strike in Melbourne, Florida

Put your years of experience into a future of excellence... Northrop Grumman is seeking an WindowsSystems Administrator to join our Enterprise Services team in Melbourne, FL . The successful candidate will provide day-to-day IT Operations support for a strategic program. The successful candidate will have technical skills that demonstrate a solid understanding of IT Operations including Service Desk, Networks, Data Center, Application Support, SLA management, Telecommunications, and all other areas of IT Operations. Candidates will demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, resolve technical problems and answer queries by telephone in support of the internal customer, possess excellent problem solving skills, and will contribute to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.

Applicants will display strong problem solving skills and a solid understanding of day-to-day IT Operations. The person in this position will be responsible to organize, conduct, and document the results of IT Operations meetings; manage computer inventories; plan and support change, asset, and configuration management; coordinate with other functional areas including desktop support, security, system administration, and networks; display a competent and professional presence with customers.

  • Work IT Operations in a24x7x364 environment(the candidate must be able to support after hours issues on an 'as-needed' basis)

  • Possess a solid understanding of IT Operations Management as defined in ITIL

  • Have outstanding customer service experience working to meet SLAs

  • Document, maintain, and disseminate procedures, knowledgebase articles, and other technical processes as needed

  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly and comprehensively to senior leadership and technical experts

  • Have strong organization and time-management skills, a can-do attitude, and a level of comfort with changing priorities

  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment where multiple projects are being developed and deployed simultaneously


Basic Qualifications :

  • Master's degree with0 years ofIT experience; OR a Bachelor's degree with2 years of IT experience is required

  • Must have experience administrating Windows or VMWare servers

  • Must have a basic understanding of Network administration, to include routing and subnets

  • Must have a DOD 8570 IAT level 2 baseline certification (example: Security+ CE); OR must have the ability to obtain one within 6 months of start date

  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds

  • Must be able to work nights and/or weekends as needed

  • Candidates must have a current DOD Secret level security clearance (or higher) with an original adjudication, or a periodic reinvestigation, completed within the last 6 years in order to be considered

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain access to special programs as a condition of continued employment

Preferred Qualifications :

  • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a STEM related discipline, a Security+ CE certification, and 3 years of experience administrating Windows and VMWare servers in a classified environment

  • Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments

  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware in a networked environment

  • Server management

  • Current Security+ CE, CASP, CISSP, or similar certifications

  • Cisco experience and/or certifications desirable

  • Windows domain architecture experience

  • Windows AD, LDAP, VMWare, and knowledge of SAN storage systems

  • Linux Operating System experience and/or certification for current versions

  • VMWare experience with current version

  • Knowledge of environmental monitoring tools (HBSS/Solar Winds/Splunk)

  • Rudimentary Scripting (PowerShell) would be helpful

  • Creation and deployment of system images in an enterprise environment

  • Experience with Certification & Accreditation process

  • DoD 8570 Certification in a primary OS (Windows, Linux, Cisco)

  • Top Secret clearance would be ideal
