Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Systems Engineer 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications:

Typical experience for this role is:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from anaccredited university and5+ years of Systems Engineering experience in an aerospace/defense environment OR

  • Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and3+ years of Systems Engineering experience in an aerospace/defense environment OR

  • PhD Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university

  • Current DOD Secret clearance required.

  • 5+ years of experience with DOORS

  • 5+ years of experience performing Requirements Analysis and Decomposition to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

  • 5+ years of experience performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

  • The ability to interpret requirements, edit and maintain corresponding objects and attributes in the product DOORS database, prepares and presents Change Requests through appropriate Technical Review and Change Review Boards.
