Northrop Grumman's Aerospace Systems is seeking a Staff System Security Architect Engineer to work closely with Programs, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering and other organizations to ensure our products and development environments are resistant to threats, and compliant to government Program Protection requirements. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

The successful candidate will be a highly organized self-starter with the ability to work with all levels of management under minimal supervision. The candidate will have gone through a full Systems Engineering V (requirements through verification) on at least one medium to large size development program. The candidate must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and team skills with demonstrated ability to successfully lead teams. The successful candidate will be accountable for quality work products, have superior written and oral skills.

The System Security Architect Engineer responsibilities are as follows:

Engages with programs from concept and design through implementation, test and deployment of cost effective secure resilient and supportable military systems

Develops the Platforms Security Architecture and Works with our customer, NGC System Engineers and Suppliers in the generation of Program Protection Weapon System and Segment Specification Requirements.

Mentors and guides the System Security Engineering team in the development of secure and resilient systems.

Assesses and evaluates the developing architecture for security risks and generates mitigation plans

Identifies and tracks the artifacts necessary to prove compliance of our Program Protection Requirements

Supports the customer and provides the artifacts to receive Authority To Operate (ATO's) and Letter of Concurrence (LOC)




Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline (Computer Science/Engineering or related technical field) with 14+ years of Systems engineering experience OR Master's Degree in a discipline with 12+ years of Systems engineering experience.

  • Active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS

  • Knowledge in Multi-level Security/Cross Domain systems and operations with special requirements such as Program Protection, Anti-Tamper, Red/Black Separation

  • Experience in the management and maintenance of systems required to satisfy the Certification and Accreditation requirements under the NIST 800-37, NIST 800-53, DCID 6/3, and the CNSS 1253

  • Experience with compliance verification of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Service security alerts and bulletins, and DISA/DoD standards, SCAP tools, ACAS, Firewalls, intrusion detection, connotation testing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other STEM discipline

  • Active DoD Top Secret/SSBI security clearance

  • Proposal development to include Basis of Estimate (BOE) creation

  • Cost Account Management (CAM) experience in support of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) on Programs

  • Experience with Vulnerability Research, Reverse Engineering and Exploit Development on embedded system.

  • Active DoD 8570 IAT Level III Technical Certification/s (CISSP) or IA SAE Level III (CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP)

  • Experience with Network engineering and administration
