Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Sr. Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
The selected candidate maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators, interacts with users and evaluates vendor products, makes recommendations to purchase hardware/software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. They also develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
Maintain availability of Test Station and Software Development environment
Collect and report system data metrics
Ensure systems adhere to program configuration and data management plans
Perform Lap Operations Policy and Procedures as being executed and updated E0-7409 and Lab Ops Standard Operating Procedures)
Implement assessments of systems and networks within the environment or enclave and identify where systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy while generating Plan of Actions and Milestones POA&M
Execute implementation of the required government policy, make recommendations on process tailoring, participate in and document process activities
Support the formal Security Test and Evaluate (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results and preparation of the required reports

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 9 years of relevant engineering experience OR a Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 7 years of relevant engineering experience OR a PhD in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 4 years of relevant engineering experience
DoD 8570 Level 2 Certification such as Security+, CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, or CYSA+ Experience with VMware Horizon and Instant Clones hand-on configuration, management, and design
A current and in-scope DoD Secret level security clearance or above
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access within a reasonable period of time as deemed appropriate by the business prior to establishing a start date
Experience performing administrative tasks in security relevant reporting tools such as Splunk, Tenable/ACAS/Nessus, Nagios, or Solarwinds
Experience building and maintaining databases such as SQL and Postgres
Active Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification
Understanding of enterprise-level computing platforms involving virtualization, distribution, and high availability
Experience implementing storage allocation, reclamation, replication, and migration
