Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Software Engineer 5 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the AEW BMC2 programs located in Melbourne, Florida.
Responsibilities will include deploying, automating, maintaining, troubleshooting and improving the systems and software infrastructure running smoothly. The role requires you to have hands on technical experience and a can do approach towards environment automation and management along with continuous improvements. You will be a team member working in agile development process. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of application builds, releases, deployment along with configuration activities. Your responsibilities will include working with internal business partners to gather requirements, prototyping, and architecting complex solutions supporting the building and test plan execution, performing quality reviews and triaging and fixing operational issues. The candidate will assist with the integration, troubleshooting and testing of implemented software changes. The ideal candidate will have the ability to take ownership of ambiguous hard problems and drive to a solution, while working in a team environment. It is critical that you understand the software development life cycle and have an in-depth knowledge of automated testing to facilitate and analyze large data sets.
The E-2 program family is seeking a software engineer to support next generation E-2D programs. Responsibilities will include but not limited to;
Supporting full lifecycle design, implementation, and unit testing of software Develop SW products from all phases of SW life cycle.
The Software Engineer will develop, modify and maintain customized or standardized applications using software engineering best practices and standards, and participate in the full life-cycle of software development, to include requirements development, modeling and design, application development, unit to CSCI testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance.
The candidate will apply technical expertise and may function in a project leadership role.
The candidate will interact with Program Management, external personnel and/or customers; excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are required.
Working with various sub teams to integrate functionality with other IPTs; actively participate in code reviews and supporting full lifecycle design, implementation, and unit testing of software.
Experience with Object Oriented languages (C++, etc) on a Linux platform is required.
Familiarity with DOORS, Git, and Atlassian Tool Suite is a plus.
Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 14 years of software engineering experience OR Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of software engineering experience
RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) development experience
Experience developing and writing software in C++ or Ada
Experience with configuration management using industry standard tools and processes
Experience with Agile software development
Experience developing software in a Linux environment
Cyber security/Information assurance related software experience
Ability to obtain a DoD secret security clearance
(Must have at minimum, an interim DoD secret level clearance to start)
Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
Should be familiar with Agile SW development process
Strong Problem Solving Skills
Ability to work with and lead cross-functional teams
Excellent oral and written communication skills and Strong interpersonal skills Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite, Git, and confluence
Experience with DOORS
Knowledge of Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) systems
Able to work independently and identify solutions to complex problems
Experience leading software teams in an agile environment
Familiar with aircraft systems/subsystems architectures (i.e., CNI, vehicle, cockpit, )
Experience with Computer graphics and GUI frameworks.
Experience with Agile Development
Experience with OpenGL
