Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Software Engineer 5 in the Joint STARS Manned C2ISR product team to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is location in Melbourne, Florida and will support cybersecurity tasks for the Joint STARS software development program.
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level clearance and the ability to obtain program access.
Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and14 years of software engineering experience OR
Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and12 years of software engineering experience OR a PhD. in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and9 years of software engineering experience
Experience developing software with C/C++, and Python programming languages
Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows development
Active DoD Interim Secret or Secret clearance
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related field with 15+ years' experience
Experience in object-oriented analysis and design
Preference to work on information assurance, cybersecurity software analysis
Experience in static code analysis on large code baselines
Experience in setting up the infrastructure and virtual environments for analysis tools for use by large teams
Experience in organizing, tasking, and leading software assurance teams
Proficiency in the implementation, maintenance, and use of CodeSonar, HP Fortify, and FortranLint, for large code baselines
Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certifications
Experience with ESXi system administration
Familiar with public key infrastructure (PKI), and implementing smart card authentication
Able to work independently and identify solutions to complex problems
