Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Software Engineer 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida .
Software Engineer in the Joint STARS Manned C2ISR product team.
This position will support cybersecurity tasks for the Joint STARS software development program. Duties to include, but not limited to:
Static code analysis and remediation of production software. This can include becoming proficient with third party applications and developing/maintaining in-house develop capabilities.
Dynamic code analysis and remediation of production software. This can include becoming proficient with third party applications and developing/maintaining in-house develop capabilities.
Aggregating analysis data across all cybersecurity activities for reporting to the customer.
Development of the tools, processes, and training necessary to execute cybersecurity tasks in a cross-discipline environment.
Assist with the sustainment of the IT infrastructure necessary for cybersecurity activities, to include maintaining Window's servers/workstations, RHEL servers, software licenses, source code, etc
Maintain awareness of current Cybersecurity trends, tools, and issues.
Must be able to work in a diverse team environment.
If necessary, obtaining the Security+ certification is expected to occur within the first year (training will be provided).
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of software engineering experience OR
Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of software engineering experience
An active DoD Interim Secret or Secret level clearance
Experience with at least one of the following programming languages: C/C++, Java, or FORTRAN.
Full lifecycle software development experience
Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
In depth working knowledge and experience with Python, C/C++, Java, Fortran, Linux (RHEL) and other modern software development languages
Certification in Security+ or CISSP
