Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for aSoftware Engineer 1 – HMI / Displays to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

The selected candidate will develop and implement software test plans in a lab environment supporting various space, aircraft, and ground systems.

Essential Functions:

•Reviewing, interpreting and analyzing formal and informal requirements

•Creating, updating, and adhering to Style Guides

•Support HMI working groups

•Support development, integration, and execution of all front-end development activities

•Performing troubleshooting as required

•Documenting design decisions and taking meeting minutes

•Mentor younger engineers to develop and enhance their skills

•Providing consistent front-end styling and layouts

•The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

•Candidate must be comfortable in a lab environment and be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers.

MELENG

Basic Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university

•An active Interim Secret or Secret DoD clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

•Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering

•Previous HMI/Human Factors/Displays experience

•Experience developing platform displays (air, sea, etc.)

•Passion for front-end design and development (UI/UX)

•Experience with HTML & CSS

•Experience with Atlassian tool suite with add-ons like Git and Confluence

•Familiarity with Agile SW development process

•Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)

•Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
