Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Software Engineer 3 Software Assurance to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida .

Essential Functions:

Software Assurance/Test Engineer who will support "hardening" C++ software code, and development environments. Work to include Supplier pedigree investigations, static code and dynamic code analysis (Coverity, Fortify, Lint and VectorCast.) The Software Engineer will follow overall direction to design, implement, and test a deliverable software product to reduce vulnerabilities. Responsibilities include support in implementing software assurance policies and procedures, participate in code reviews for security issues, support the Software Test team in the development and test of abuse cases. This role will also support the development of mitigations for software vulnerabilities found during analysis/test. The candidate will also support research into industry best practices for software assurance and provide feedback to overall software assurance team.

Position requires the ability to obtain program access.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5+ years of software engineering experience OR

  • Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3+ years of software engineering experience

  • Experience with either static code or dynamic code analysis (Coverity, Fortify, Lint or VectorCast.)

  • Experience developing software / writing code in C++ An active in-scope DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering

  • Strong C++ skills and OS knowledge

  • Familiarity with aircraft systems/subsystems architectures (i.e., CNI, vehicle, cockpit, )

  • Familiarity with Safety/Mission Critical air worthiness certificationcriteria

  • Familiarity with Agile SW development

  • Familiarity with Atlassian tool suite with add-ons like (git, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and Jira)

  • Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
