Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Electronics Engineer - SATURN to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at our Manned Aircraft Design Center in Melbourne, FL.
The SATURN Engineer will be responsible for performing analysis, requirements development, integration, test, and supplier management of avionics flight hardware. Design experience is a plus. Specific tasks will include writing specifications, analysis and evaluation of existing COTS/MOTS design/design concept, test procedures, interface with suppliers, performing analysis/test and generating test reports. Knowledge of DOORs, UHF SATURN waveform, MIL-STD-1553, and ARINC 429 is a plus. Will also perform research/analysis of existing COTS equipment, work with Systems Engineering to develop requirements, supplier technical interface to oversee design, design reviews and support program reviews to ensure supplier products meet requirements. Preferred experience includes performing ground and flight test of airborne or space navigation electronics. Experience with systems integration is a plus. Experience with integration of COTS electronics into military systems is a plus.
Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of electronics engineering experience OR Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of electronics engineering experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance with the ability to obtain a DOD Interim Secret level security clearance prior to start.
Must be able to obtain and maintain additional Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
A current active in-scope DoD Secret or higher security clearance.
Experience with RF and/or communication and navigation equipment systems.
Experience with avionic CNI systems which includes Controls and Displays, Communications, Navigation, Surveillance, Data Links, and Cabin Management Systems.
Experience working on a multidisciplinary team
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and technical writing skills.
