Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Mission Planner Engineer Systems Test 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL before transitioning to Palmdale, CA.
Develop mission plans which include the peer review, 6 Degrees of Freedom (6DOF) checks of mission plans, testing mission plans in the simulator and laboratory
Participate in mission rehearsals and train pilots on the mission planning system
Coordinate with operations schedulers to obtain range clearances as well with internal and external agencies, and contribute to pre and post-test mission briefings
Administer computer equipment hosting mission planning system/tools, to include performance of audits, system security planning, etc
Work collaboratively with design engineers during the development and testing of the mission planning system to ensure requirements and capabilities are met
Overtime, odd shifts, weekend work will occasionally be required
This position requires temporary assignment to Melbourne, Florida for about 18-24 months then transition to Palmdale, California
Must be able to obtain and maintain program access
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security clearance

Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of flight test experience OR
Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 7 years of flight test experience OR
PhD Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 4 years of flight test experience
Proficient in the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS)
Minimum 5 years of experience as a military aircraft mission planner
A current DoD Secret level security clearance, to include a Single Scope Background Investigation, a periodic reinvestigation, or an original adjudication date completed within the last 6 years
Experience in Flight Mission Planning during Developmental Testing (DT) and Operational Test (OT) dynamic environments
Experience developing mission and test planning procedures
A current DoD Top Secret Clearance
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
