Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems Sector has an opening for a Materials & Process Section Manager at the Melbourne, FL Center of Excellence. This is a leadership position.
The successful candidate will manage the functional engineering activities of approximately 15 employees who perform engineering and program support functions across multiple programs. The Section Manager is responsible for design product integrity, process adherence, staffing, training and tools. Specific responsibilities include growth and development within the M&P staff, providing visibility for M&P capabilities within the CoE, establishing technical direction across a broad range of M&P Engineering activities, participation in the performance review process, management of personnel records, and participation in corrective or disciplinary actions. Staffing responsibilities may include hiring, reduction in force actions, recruiting of personnel and working to ensure that engineers with the appropriate skills and experience are deployed. The ability to manage training opportunities and budget allocations, as well as participation in tool, process, and metric initiatives is required.
The Section Manager will also perform IPT tasks, which will comprise the majority of the candidates work statement. Team engagement is a key focus. The ability to mentor, provide career guidance and coaching, and to lead others is required. This position may require travel, but will be permanently located in Melbourne, Florida.
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in Materials & Process Engineering or Master’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Materials & Process Engineering.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Active Secret Clearance required
Proven history of leadership
Broad experience across multiple M&P disciplines.
Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office software suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate within a team and across team environments.
Ability to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result.
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously.
Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
