Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a HVAC Mechanic 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
The facilities maintenance group supports 1.83M sq. ft. of office, lab and hanger space at our Melbourne Design Center of Excellence. The responsibilities under this position include, the maintenance for program and operations production equipment, and the site facility infrastructure and equipment.
The successful candidate will perform preventive maintenance of onsite HVAC, Chillers, cooling towers, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in support of the programs located at the Melbourne site. Job function requires use of standard hand and power tools, along with basic computer skills.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions include:
General Maintenance of Mechanical Systems i.e. HVAC's, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, doors, plumbing, etc.
Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies necessary to keep work areas safe, clean, orderly and efficient
Refining and advancing shop methods and tools
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate must be comfortable working in a professional environment, and be able to collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and management.
High School Diploma and/or GED
Must have hands-on experience working on HVAC, Chillers, Cooling Towers
Must have hands-on Maintenance experience with Mechanical Systems
Must have experience working with Hand and Power tools
Must be comfortable working on computers and Maximo experience
Must be flexibility to occasionally work off shifts and weekends when required
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Top Secret Security clearance and receive Special Program Access.
Electrical Journeyman's license
Plumbing Journeyman's license
Hands-on experience with Generators and UPS's
Fire system maintenance/modification experience/certification
Active, In scope DoD Top Secret or SCI clearance
Hands-on Experience with Plumbing
